Meet the Candidates 2025

Please join us at the James Kaden Administrative Offices on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 7:30PM to meet this year's candidates running for two Board of Education seats. Below you will find a brief introduction to this year’s 3 candidates, Mr. Nicholas Ciappetta, Mr. William Biangasso, and Mrs. Geraldine Wuestman-Clark.
Nicholas R. Ciappetta, J.D.
Nicholas Ciappetta is a lifelong member of the South Huntington community who graduated from Walt Whitman High School and earned a B.A. from Vassar College before obtaining his J.D. degree from the Hofstra University School of Law. He is an attorney with the New York City Law Department where he represents the City of New York and its mayoral agencies. In 2004 Nick was elected to the South Huntington Board of Education. He has served in a leadership role as the Board’s Vice President from 2012 to 2017, and currently as the President since 2017. Nick’s tireless work ethic qualified him to become Chairperson of the District’s Facilities Committee. In this role he has helped guide the upgrade and long-range development of South Huntington’s buildings and grounds to be state-of-the-art facilities. During his tenure on the Board of Education, the District has enhanced the quality of K-12 education as demonstrated by improved graduation rates and rankings, created and expanded its Pre-K program and increased academic rigor through expanded course offerings, all while fostering transparent communication and committing to fiscal responsibility.
William J. Biangasso
My name is William Biangasso and I am seeking a second term. I live in the district with my wife Suzanne and daughter Stephanie who attends Walt Whitman High School. I have learned a great deal in term one which has made me a more informed trustee. In addition to my board responsibilities I serve on the Audit and Facilities Committees. Working in collaboration with my fellow board members to improve safety measures in our schools, provide teachers and students with the necessary resources needed to succeed, addressing building infrastructure, and fiscal responsibility are highlights of my first term. I know there is more work to do. I’m active in the community serving on the board for both South Huntington Soccer Club and the Whaling Museum and Education Center in Cold Spring Harbor. I bring a unique perspective to the board with over twenty-five years in education as both a classroom teacher and an administrator. I thank you for the privilege of representing our district these past three years and I seek your support to serve you for another three more.
Geraldine Wuestman-Clark
Geraldine Wuestman-Clark is a proud lifelong South Huntington School District resident and Walt Whitman High School graduate. She earned an associate degree in accounting from SUNY Farmingdale, a bachelor's degree in elementary education from SUNY College at Buffalo, a master’s degree in literacy from St. John’s University and a second master’s degree in educational leadership from The College of New Rochelle.
As a retired elementary school teacher with thirty-five years experience, Mrs. Clark is passionate about providing high-quality education for children and understands the many factors that contribute to the success of schools. Outside of teaching responsibilities, she served as a union representative, volunteered as a religious education teacher, coached local girls’ soccer teams, and served as the treasurer for the WWHS Marching Band Parent Association.
Having raised two children who graduated from South Huntington schools, Mrs. Clark understands our schools, the community, and the challenges that many families face balancing careers, children and finances. She strongly believes that high-quality education can be provided while maintaining fiscal responsibility and will dedicate herself to advocating for all residents of the district.
