NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
REAL PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTIONS
PURSUANT TO NEW YORK REAL PROPERTY TAX LAW
SECTION 466-a (Volunteer Firefighter and Volunteer Ambulance Worker Tax Exemption)
SECTION 467 (Senior Citizen Tax Exemption)
SECTION 471 (Surviving Spouses of Police Officers Killed in the Line of Duty Tax Exemption).
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to New York Real Property Tax Law (“RPTL”) 466-a, 467, and 471, the Board of Education of the South Huntington Union Free School District will hold a public hearings at the James Kaden Administrative Offices located at 60 Weston Street, Huntington Station on February 25, 2026 at 5:30 P.M. at which time and place the Board of Education of the South Huntington Union Free School District will discuss, consider, and provide an opportunity for interested residents to be heard regarding proposed resolutions related to the following real property tax exemptions:
Public Hearing 1: A proposed resolution amending the existing Volunteer Firefighters and Volunteer Ambulance Workers Tax Exemption pursuant to RPTL § 466-a.
Public Hearing 2: A proposed resolution amending the existing Senior Citizens Exemption pursuant to RPTL § 467.
Public Hearing 3: A proposed resolution adopting the Surviving Spouses of Police Officers Killed in the Line of Duty Tax Exemption pursuant to RPTL §471.
