Congratulations to Megan Rankel on earning Athlete of the Month for September! Megan is a Junior at Walt Whitman High School who’s been on the Varsity Volleyball Team since her sophomore year. Megan is a setter and this season, remembers the team taking second place at the Smithtown tournament being a major highlight. Megan’s favorite part about Walt Whitman is being involved in the sports program, both on the Varsity Volleyball team in the fall and Varsity Badminton in the spring. Congratulations Megan, and good luck on the remainder of the fall sports season!

Congratulations to John Adams on earning Athlete of the Month for September! John is a Junior running on Whitman’s Cross Country team who has had great success this season. The highlight of John’s season has been his consistent ability to surpass his personal best during races at the challenging Sunken Meadow course. John’s favorite part about Walt Whitman is the overall environment and culture within the classroom and school building. John will continue to compete during the winter and spring months on Whitman’s Track & Field team, and we look forward to seeing him continue to beat his best times. Congratulations John, and good luck closing out this fall season!
