Walt Whitman's Class of 2023 Principal's List

Over the years, South Huntington has maintained its focus on positive character building and superior academic performance. Twenty-six years ago, the Principal’s List was created to reflect those values by way of showcasing top-grade students becoming honorably recognized for their tremendous, in-classroom accomplishments. Board of Education President, Nick Ciappetta, was inducted in the 1997 Principal’s List alongside 27 of his peers. Today, the Principal List includes over 140 names of students who have carried out the same tradition by excelling scholastically. To be exalted into the prestigious record, a student must achieve an overall 94.9% grade point average during their four years at Walt Whitman High School. While the list is reserved only for those respected students who have strived for academic excellence, it also serves to encourage the student body as a whole, to push oneself and strive for greatness. This year, 149 students were celebrated during the Principal’s List Awards Night on May 23, 2023.
 
 
The accomplishments made by these 149 students emphasizes their dedication to their academic pursuits, showcasing the talents and efforts they have shown over the last 4 years. We are confident these students will continue to excel long after graduation. We wish the very best for them in all their future endeavors, knowing they will make a positive mark on the world.
