Senior Follies 2024

It was a packed house as Walt Whitman High School’s Senior Follies 2024 took center stage at the PAC for some big laughs with the Senior Class. The annual ‘Follies’ is a great time for everyone as the seniors perform skits roasting their favorite teachers and administrators, and celebrate all that high school life can be. The enthusiastic audience was entertained with skits including Welcome Back Murphy, Pip Auditions, Bradle’s Wedding, Corcoran Kills the Economy, and Thank You Notes, just to name a few.

To all the seniors who participated in Senior Follies - you did an amazing job!  It’s always great to have a full PAC, echoing with the sounds of laughter and applause. To all the teachers and administrators who joined us and provided the seniors with endless material for the show - a great big thank you!  Thank you to Mrs. Zamow for all her work with Whitman’s seniors!

Special thanks to the following for their invaluable help: The Senior Class officers for coordinating this year’s Follies, for being the keepers of all details and scripts, and just about everything else you can think of; Ava Tulipano for coordinating all the microphones and sound effects for the show; Mr. Rickmers and the entire Lamplighters team for all the stage and lighting support in the PAC; John Andreoni and SDE for providing the microphones and sound equipment for the show; the custodians for helping set up and for putting up with all of us making a mess at evening rehearsals; and Dr. Murphy, the Walt Whitman Administrative Team, and all the teachers for being good sports and letting us laugh a little (or a lot!) at the place we come to every day!

There were some uncanny student-administrator lookalikes that shared the stage!

Megan Rankel was the perfect depiction of teacher Ralph Miranda in a number of skits.

It was second nature for senior Shaun Murphy to play father and high school principal, John Murphy, in this year's Follies. Seen here is Murphy doing the classic Instagram selfie pose with Phoenix Madrid playing WWHS Teacher of the Year, Ralph Milazzo.

Each skit, including 'Corcoran Kills the Economy', left the audience in stitches.
