Whitman's 2022

Senior Class Fundraiser

This year marks the fifth annual anniversary of Walt Whitman High School hosting another memorable Lip Sync Battle fundraiser for the Senior Class. The tradition continues of students battling teachers and staff in an array of entertaining performances that never disappoints. Mr. Goldman unraveled his performance of "Undone" by Weezer, Mr. Milazzo rapped perfectly as Eminem, Mr. Rogers proposed to Mr. Pineda in a Frozen flashback, and Mr. Cardella showed us that he’s still got some muscle as Maui from Moana. Seniors Amanda Esposito and Victoria Isernia led the Beat It team with Whitman’s admin, while Jon Holleran was a great 50 Cent in a Superbowl halftime reenactment with Kevin Rankel, Andres Valencia Castaneda, and Benjamin Koch.

At the close of all the battles, the audience was invited to vote on their favorite act and the winner with the most votes was granted bragging rights, in addition to a $100 grand prize. Congratulations to the overall winners for this year’s battle, Nate Fontanetta and Fern Brazeau, with their performance of “The One That I Want” from Grease!

Thank you to everyone for supporting the Class of 2022! The evening serves as a fundraiser for the senior class under the advisory of Ms. Diane Langhorst-Zamow and she would like to thank all who participated and came out to support the senior class.

Special thanks to the Senior Class officers for coordinating the Lip Sync show, SDE and Alex Dollin for coordinating all of the sound, and the Lamplighter team for all of their help with lighting and backstage. Thank you to judges Mr. Miranda, Mrs. Tonna, Mr. Karavias, and Mr. Varlamos as the master of ceremonies for the evening. A special thank you to all of the students who came forward to battle the teachers, Mr. Costa, and all of the Walt Whitman faculty who participated!

It was a sight to behold watching Mr. Rogers and Mr. Pineda perform "Love is an Open Door" from Disney's Frozen.

Our judges provided some critique and comedic relief between acts.
