The Wildcat wrestling team finished off their season with a 2nd place finish in arguably the toughest league in the state. Quality wins included wins over the number 10 and 5th ranked team in the county. There was a time not too long ago where there was little or no hope for a season. Then the tide turned and we got the OK to start high-risk sports such as Wrestling on February 1st. Granted it was only a 4-week season, but our grapplers had the opportunity to show off the hard work they have put in since the end of last season.
The final match against Lindenhurst, the 5th ranked team in Suffolk, was a huge win for the Cats as the first 4 matches were won by PIN, putting the Bulldogs at a distinct disadvantage as the matches continued. The final score of 36-31 was a real statement made as the team starts getting ready for 2022. They made a bad situation better and we are so proud of their efforts.
