Congratulations to Walt Whitman High School's Varsity Football team on their convincing 30-6 win over Longwood in the Suffolk County semifinal on Saturday! Brandon Ivy's 99-yard return of a fumble forced by Rasahn Thompson and Liam Villanti gave the Wildcats an early 14-0 lead. Tim Hunter scored a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown off a pass from Nicholas Bottoni. AJ Evans ran for 130 yards and had a touchdown behind the offensive line of Joe Robert, Logan Elmore, Diego Romeo, Logan Bermudez, and Liam Villanti. The defense forced 6 turnovers, including a key interception by Sean Bock. Bock, along with Steven Lainez Gomez, Dan Smith, Andrew Diaz, Joey Grasso, and Jakub Piopta, shut down Longwood all game long. Josh Arevalo added a 24-yard field goal and three extra points to further their lead. We wish the best of luck as the team travels to William Floyd on Friday at 5pm for the Suffolk County Championships!
