Division I Championship Title

Tyriek Mays-McKoy had 7 catches for 171 yards and 2 TDs

Congratulations to Varsity Football on their first Suffolk County Championship since 1984 with a 42-7 win over William Floyd!  Nicholas Bottoni went 12 for 19 with 205 yards and 3 TDS!  Tyriek Mays-McKoy had 7 catches for 171 yards and 2 TDs!  AJ Evans had 8 carries for 81 yards and 3 TDs!  Rasahn Thompson set the tone with an electric 35 yard kickoff return and 3 rushes for 45 yards! Ray added 10 tackles on defense and made the play of the game blocking a field goal near the end of the 2nd quarter that set up a key TD and a 14-0 lead! On defense, Liam Villanti led the way with 11 tackles, 3 of them for loss and a fumble recovery!  Joe Gervasio added 9 tackles, 2 for loss, and a fumble recovery as well!  Freshman Xavier Ali had 8 tackles, 2 for loss and a key pass deflection to force a punt on Floyd’s 1st drive!  Luke Kannavos scored his first career touchdown on a 5 yard reception from Bottoni and had 12 tackles on D! Adam Arevalo went a perfect 6 for 6 on extra points! Congratulations to the team and coaches on an incredible job well-done. The team advances to play Massapequa in the Division 1 Long Island Championship this Friday at noon at Hofstra University.
