Congratulations to Walt Whitman High School Junior Lizzie Schreiber for competing in the New York State Track and Field Championship! Lizzie placed 3rd in the State and Federation in the Triple Jump, jumping 38'5" at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island. Lizzie also ran a personal best in the 300m (41.44), placing 14th in the State! She will move ahead and compete in the Triple Jump at the New Balance and Adidas National Track and Field Meets.

Lizzie will compete in the Triple Jump at New Balance Nationals on Saturday, March 11th at the Armory in New York City. On Saturday, March 19th, she will compete in the Triple Jump at the Adidas National competition at the Virginia Beach Athletic Facility in Virginia Beach, VA.

This season, Lizzie has racked up numerous accomplishments as a Junior on the Varsity Track & Field team. She broke the Triple Jump school record on February 12, 2022 at the Section XI State Qualifier Meet (39' 5.5"), a record that was set back in 1994 by RoseMarie Bryan. She remained undefeated in every crossover meet this winter as she claimed the title of League 2 Champion in the 300m and Triple Jump, as well as the Long Island Elite Meet champion title in the 300m dash and Triple Jump. She placed 3rd in the State and Federation at The NYS Track and Field Championship, and qualified to compete at the New Balance and Adidas Nationals where she looks to gain All-American status.

We wish the best of luck to Lizzie as she goes on to compete at Nationals!!
