Monday Wrap-Up

Congratulations Boys Varsity Volleyball on defeating Half Hollow Hills last Thursday (March 11th) by a score of 3 sets to 2. After dropping the first 2 sets, the team came roaring back to win 3 straight and pick up their first win of the young season. Alex Glatzle and Tom Biryla turned in excellent performances during the win. Way to go boys!

Captain Tom Biryla turned in excellent performances to help secure the win for Boys Varsity Volleyball against Half Hollow Hills at last Thursday’s home game.

The Boys Varsity Volleyball team beat Shoreham Wading River on Saturday by a score of 3 sets to 0.  The team improves its record to 2-1.  Ryan Davis earned Player of the Game honors during the win with 3 kills, 1 block and 5 aces.  Ben D’Agostino led the team in digs with 6.  Good job boys!

The Girls Varsity Swim team defeated William Floyd 80-61 last Friday.  The 200m freestyle relay team of Emily Teplansky, Abigail Velazquez and Bianca Santaromana placed 1st. Teplansky also won the 200m I.M. and the 100m freestyle.

Congratulations to our Girls JV Volleyball team as they defeated Connetquot two sets to one last Friday.  Noelle Decker led the way with 11 kills and 10 digs.  Dani Probst was dominant in the back row with 25 digs.  Sophia Swanson was great at the net with 10 blocks and 8 kills.  Anastasia Novinski sealed the win, serving to close out the final set.  Congratulations girls on a hard fought victory.

Tuesday Wrap-up

Congratulations Boys Varsity Volleyball on beating Sayville Monday night by a score of 3 sets to 2. The Team improved to 3-1 with great performances by team captains Tom Biryla and Alex Glatzle.  Tom led the team in kills with 24 and Alex added 36 assists.  Great job boys!

Congratulations Boys JV Volleyball who also won against Sayville. John Lineen led the team in assists and Alex Bogdani led the team in kills.  Sean Schwanter's tough serving put the match away as the Wildcats improved their record to 2-1.  Great job by all of the players!

Wednesday Wrap-Up

Congratulations Girls Varsity Volleyball who defeated Lindenhurst 3 games to 0 on Tuesday, led by Jenna Stockfeder who had 9 kills and 5 blocks. Annabelle Novinski ran the offense with 24 assists.  Judy Anest added in 5 kills and 2 aces.  Great job by the whole team!

Congratulations Girls JV Volleyball who defeated Lindenhurst and improved to 3 and 1.  Strong serving from Megan Rankel, Noelle Decker, and Juliet Boccia with strong hitting and defense from Kaitlyn Adams, Dani Probst, Lorianna Mattutat, and Sophia Swanson helped push the team to victory after trailing in the first set.  Great team win!

Thursday Wrap-Up

Congratulations Girls Varsity Gymnastics on winning their first meet of the season against Hampton Bays by over 20 points.  Carly McEntee tumbled with grace scoring her first 9.0 of the season.  Danielle DeGaray, Sanai Browne, Brianna Scala, Alexa Toledo and Emily Gorecki all had great success in their events.  The Team is excited to keep competing this season.  Amazing job ladies!

Congratulations JV Girls Volleyball on defeating Bay Shore 3 sets to none to improve to 4-1.  Strong defense from Dani Probst, strong hitting from Noelle Decker, Kaitlyn Adams, and Sophia Swanson, and excellent serving from Emily Rollman helped seal the win. Great job girls!

Congratulations JV Boys Volleyball!  On Wednesday, the team rallied to defeat East Islip 2 sets to 1.  Paul Portillo and Sean Schwanter led the team to victory as they now improve to 3-1 on the season.  Great job team.

Friday Wrap-Up

Congratulations Boys Cross Country!  On Thursday this week, the team defeated Lindenhurst 34-25.  Leading the Wildcats was Ryan Hansen running the Belmont State Park 3-mile course in 18 minutes and 5 seconds.  Rounding out the top 5 finishers for Walt Whitman were Ryan Hill, MIke Coppolla, Declan Hill and senior Jacob Veeder.  Great job, guys!

Congratulations Varsity Girls Volleyball on defeating Bay Shore on the road on Wednesday night, 3 games to 2.  Jenna Stockfeder and Caroline Phillips each had 16 kills and Maggie Neiland added 32 digs.  Annabelle Novinski had 48 assists, 15 digs, 5 kills and 4 aces.  Great job by the whole team!

Congratulations Varsity Field Hockey on picking up their 3rd win on Thursday against North Babylon.  Mia Brunetti started the scoring off of an assist from Shaelyn Scharpf 10 minutes into the game.  Mia added another goal off an assist from Brianna Morrissey at 21 minutes.  Newcomer Fefi Paiva added 2 goals in the 3rd off assists from Charlotte O'Hara who also added a goal of her own.  The final goal for Whitman was scored by Kristy Chillemi.  Excellent defense was played by Jenna Dalimonte, Carissa DelColle and Maya Duclay.  Congratulations ladies!
