Tuesday Recap

Congratulations Golf: Whitman Golf does it again.  After 4 matches yesterday, Whitman had only earned 1 match point from the efforts of Riley Wagner. Then came the last 2 matches. Owen Connelly and Kyle Dickson both won their matches tying the score 3-3.  The tie-breaker came down to strokes.  The Wildcats picked up 3 team points, lifting the team to victory against cross-town rivals, the Blue Devils, on an extremely challenging Huntington Crescent Club course.  The Team matched up against Hills West against on Tuesday. 

Congratulations Boys Varsity Soccer:  The Team blanked Sachem North by the score of 4-0, improving its record to 7-2.  Richard Morel led the team with a goal and 2 assists.  Wilmer Flores, Juan Chamorro, and Josh Arevalo added goals as well.  Angel Catalan and Javier Castro chipped in with assists.  Franklin Fuentes and Liam Weigele combined for a 4-save shutout.  The Wildcats clinched a playoff berth for the 9th straight year.  The Team is on the road against Ward Melville, Thursday at 4pm.

Congratulations Girls Varsity Volleyball:  The Team defeated Lindenhurst 3 games to 1 last to clinch a playoff spot.  Allie Fink led the way with 10 kills and 16 digs and Caroline Phillips added 14 kills.  Mia Stampfel had 13 digs.  Great job by the entire team!

Congratulations Girls Varsity Gymnastics:  The Team dominated its meet against Lindenhurst by over 16 points. Outstanding performances by Brianna Scala, Danielle DeGaray and Sanai Browne. Ashley DiBartolomeo danced with ease through her floor routine. Carly McEntee showed new skills on the bars and the beam with perfection.  Great job girls!

Congratulations JV Girls Volleyball:  The Team improved to 8-3 after defeating Lindenhurst 2 to 1. Great serving from Kaitlyn Adams, Anastasia Novinski, and Riley McDonell as well as strong hitting from Emma Creighton helped seal the win.

Congratulations Boys JV Volleyball:  Yesterday, the Team defeated Smithtown West 2-1, led by John Lineen, Freddie Steenson, Andrew Connolly and Gabe Beickert. Great job by all!

Congratulations Girls JV Soccer:  The Team defeated Bay Shore 5-0.  Leading the Team with the 1st goal was Emma Galdamez.  Her teammates, Aaliyah Mazara Rivera, Grace Davis and Dakota Madrid quickly followed by placing the ball in the back of the net.  The Team takes on Lindenhurst for their last game of the season.

Wednesday Recap

Congratulations Golf:  The Team shutout Hills West 9-0 yesterday at Cold Spring Country Club.  Kyle Dickson, Owen Connely, Riley Wagner, Julia Posilico, Jonathan Holleran and Colin Murphy all earned match points.  The Wildcats secured 3 team points, beating the Colts collectively by 42 strokes.  Excellent Job. Go Wildcats!

Congratulations Girls JV Volleyball:  The Team improved to 9-3 after defeating Bay Shore 2 sets to 1. Great serving from Emily Rollman, Anastasia Novinski and Riley McDonell, as well as huge blocks from Lorianna Mattutat and great defense from Dani Probst and Juliet Boccia helped seal the win. Great job girls!

Congratulations Girls Swimming:  In the match against Hauppauge, Senior Captain Emily Teplansky placed 1st in the 100m butterfly, the 100m backstroke and was a vital part of the 200 medley relay team, which also finished 1st.  Aby Velasquez swam the 1000m backstroke and Bianca Santaromana swam the 110m freestyle.

Congratulations Girls Varsity Soccer:  Team crushed Lindenhurst in their final game by a score of 5-0.  Gianna Paul had 3 goals and an assist, Julianna Villella added a goal and an assist and Brittany Delao put in the final goal.  Congratulations to the manager of the year, Dana McGowan, as well as our 3 seniors: Mareena Erfan, Anna Keller and Julianna Villella.  Thank you for all that you've done for WWGVS.  Great win girls!

Thursday Recap

Congratulations to Boys Varsity Volleyball on beating Comsewogue during Senior night by a score of 3 sets to 0. The team's seniors Alex Glatzle, Adam Tabibzada, Dan Monterroso, Noah Biton, and Tom Biryla all contributed to the win. Junior Tyler Phillips led the team with 11 kills and 6 aces.

Congratulations to Girls Swimming on wrapping up its regular season with a 89-81 victory over Northport on Thursday.  Bianca Santoramana and Emily Teplansky won the 400m freestyle relay.  Aby Velasquez and Haeleigh Murray swam well. Great job ladies!

Congratulations to the Golf Team on beating Commack at Cold Spring Country Club on Thursday.  Colin Murphy led the team, shooting the lowest score amongst the Wildcats.  Jonathan Holleran had a stellar performance, securing a match point and forcing his opponent to drop his score from team play.  Riley Wagner and Kyle Dickson continue to impress, swinging their clubs well.  Julia Posillico and Owen Connolly added to the Team's victory.  They each earned match points while making up the 4 stroke difference needed to give the Wildcats another 3 team points.

Congratulations to Varsity Gymnastics on dominating their Senior meet Thursday evening with a win against Harborfields. Amazing job by the Seniors...Shannyn Cory, Brianna Scala, Alexa Toledo, Sanai Browne, Ashley DiBartolomeo and Danielle DeGaray.  All Team members put 100% into their routines.

Congratulations Varsity Field Hockey on beating William Floyd on the home turf Thursday afternoon.  Kristy Chillemi led the way with 2 goals.  Also scoring for Whitman were Mia Brunetti, Maya Duclay, Morgan Fulcher, Fefi Paiva and Shaelyn Scharpf. Goalie Jillian Vesque recorded her 5th shutout of the season.
