Principal Dr. Gayle Steele reading to future Maplewood students at the Community Read-In.
Welcome to Maplewood Intermediate School, where we embrace academic challenges and strive for excellence. At Maplewood, you will find a warm and caring environment filled with energy and enthusiasm. Our staff works collaboratively with parents and the community to foster high standards and expectations for each student. Maplewood offers students in grades 3-5 rigorous learning opportunities through high quality instruction that inspires students to be independent learners, creative thinkers, and active participants in their education. We create an educational atmosphere that encourages our students to become future scholars while supporting social-emotional intelligence and modeling good citizenship. Our goals for the development of character traits will help our students make good choices with healthy outcomes. We are proud of the positive attitude and approach to learning at Maplewood. Abraham Lincoln said "We can complain because rose bushes have thorns or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses." Positive thinking is a key to success and our mission at Maplewood is to maintain a positive atmosphere for the development of lifelong learners.
