This page is dedicated to some technology tips for families. More to come!
What is a Chromebook? Chromebooks look like a laptop, and feel like a laptop but they are designed to get things done faster and easier. They run Chrome OS, an operating system that has multiple layers of security, cloud storage, and the most popular Google Apps built in.
Students will log into their Chromebooks using their shufsd.org email account. Once they are logged in they can use the internet, create documents with Google Docs, design presentations using Google Slides and access Google Classroom.
Access all of your classes here, if one of your classes is "missing" email your teacher(s) for the class code. A class code consists of 6 or 7 letters or numbers. For example, hjhmgrk or g5gdp1.
Once you have the class code, select the + button and enter the class code. You will now be enrolled in that course.
Each class page has three sections, Stream, Classwork and People. The section that will be in use most is the Stream.
Stream: In the stream section two main things are shown. On the left hand side you will see any upcoming assignments and when they are due. In the middle of the stream you will see announcements, assignments, materials and questions from your child's teacher.
