Congratulations to Seniors Kristen Finnerty, Andrew Ledbetter, and Jake Fullerton on signing their letters of intent and committing to play their designated sport for their future colleges. This is the first time that three Whitman Seniors received national letters of intent at the same time, and we are proud to see these Senior athletes make the commitment to playing their sport beyond high school.

Congratulations Jake who has signed to play Division I Baseball at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. “Jake is a very good pitcher. He throws hard and he’s got a great pitcher’s body that will do him well at the next level,” shared Varsity Baseball Coach Keith Barrett. Coach Barrett remembered Jake having a great season as a junior, making All-League and competing well against Commack and Connetquot, the top two teams in the league.

Congratulations Andrew who has signed to play Division I Baseball at Stony Brook University. Andrew is a third year Varsity Baseball player. Andrew plays catcher for Walt Whitman and is looking to pitch more in the upcoming season. “When he gets to Stony Brook,” Coach Barrett added, “they’ll be able to decide which position he’ll play for their team.”

Congratulations Kristen who has signed to play Division II Soccer at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Kristen has been a starter on Walt Whitman’s Varsity team since 9th grade and became captain this year as a senior. “Kristen is a great kid who has worked hard for 4 years,” shared Varsity Soccer Coach Mike Moccia as he congratulated Kristen for signing with a solid Division II soccer program.

We wish each of you the best of luck and success as you all continue your athletic careers in college!
