The PTA Closet Clean Out was a great success this year thanks to the gracious donations from our South Huntington community. Donations were welcomed on Saturday, November 9th at Walt Whitman High School where 6,194 pounds were collected. A&E Clothing Corporation collects a variety of goods, from clothing and strollers to small toys and bicycles. In turn, the company pays a certain amount per pound for each item that they accept. The money is then returned to our school and is used to provide scholarships for our students. With 6,194 pounds collected, $1,242.08 will go towards those scholarships this year! Thank you to our student volunteers who spent the day helping to collect items and unload cars full of goods and thank you to everyone who donated!
