Congratulations to our seniors and Varsity Wrestling team on qualifying for the Duel Meet Championships for the first time.

The Varsity Wrestling Team put on a great performance against Bay Shore recently at the Wildcat’s Senior meet. The boys outperformed Bay Shore 42-26 at the final home match of the season, with notable pins and wins by our graduating seniors. Saul Ulloa, who joined the team for the first time as a senior this year, had a huge pin in his 195lb weight class. Jakarai McKay and Brandon Sales also had huge wins by pin, as well as Christopher Umana in his 220lb weight class. With an 18-4 record and an overall outstanding season, the Varsity Wrestling team qualified for the Duel Meet Championships for the first time. Captain Joseph Feola, who has been wrestling for most of his life and is ranked 5th in Suffolk County, expressed his excitement for his team to compete at this level. The Senior, who earned Athlete of the Month for December, anticipated the team’s performance would lead them to the Championships for the first time ever and we are equally as proud of this achievement. “We have a great senior group,” shared Wrestling Coach Chris Cardella, “they’re good leaders and we wish them well in the future.”

Good job and good luck Seniors!
