Students at Silas Wood brought the Winter Concert series to a close recently as the sixth-grade center filled with excited onlookers. Silas’ gymnasium was packed with friends and family coming out to support their favorite musicians on the two frigid evenings in mid-January. It was standing room only on both nights as spectators filed in to see their youngsters play. The first evening featured Silas’ chorus under the direction of Ms. Riva and the audience was easily impressed by the enthusiasm of the entire choir. Their smiles as they sang showcased their joyous spirits into the new year. The sixth-grade band followed the choir with a few holiday tunes under the direction of band teacher Mr. Cannella. On the second night and finale of this year’s winter concerts, the Silas Wood orchestra followed suit with an equally impressive docket of musical talent. Thanks to conductor Ms. Silvera, the concert series came to a close without a hitch.

Thank you to Principal Steve Toto and the music teachers at Silas Wood for putting together these wonderful performances for all to enjoy!
