Congratulations to Walt Whitman High School Senior, Lizzie Schreiber, on earning Athlete of the Month for February 2023! Lizzie wrapped up her winter season at the Nike Indoor Nationals meet, placing 4th in the Triple Jump while setting a new Whitman record (39' 9.5") and earning NASF All-American status. Lizzie was recently honored at the Section XI All-County Dinner where she received the Section XI MVP award. Congratulations on an amazing season, Lizzie!
Congratulations to our Girls Varsity Basketball Team on collectively earning Whitman’s February Athletes of the Month! The team had a tremendous season, winning a league title, overall Suffolk County Championship and representing Walt Whitman High School and Section XI in the Long Island Championship. Our girls finished the season with 21 wins and 4 losses, beating previously unbeaten Shoreham-Wading River to become Section XI Champions, and playing gritty defense against Baldwin in the Long Island Championships, holding them under 40 points for the first time this season. We are all incredibly proud of all that you have accomplished this year and we look forward to next season as you defend your championships!
