Project Excel Students Fundraise for Make-A-Wish District

A perfect example of collective kindness was demonstrated by our very own Project Excel students at Birchwood and Maplewood Intermediate Schools, who recently participated in a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation donating a combined total of $1,044!  The students sold ornaments showcasing the artwork of Make-A-Wish children.  The donations go towards the foundation to grant a wish for every eligible child.  One of the goals of the Project Excel program is for students to develop leadership and civic responsibility within the school community by completing community service learning projects.


Congratulations to the Project Excel students on their efforts.  Kudos to the program teachers and coordinators who facilitated the students' successfully completing this fundraising project:

Birchwood's Project Excel students stood proud knowing their donations will help grant a wish for every eligible child.

Representatives from the Make-A-Wish Foundation greeted Project Excel students at Maplewood with a check in the amount of the money raised.
