MEET THE CANDIDATES!
Andrew D. Bronson
I am a proud 21 year resident of South Huntington. Since 2003, I have worked at KPMG (an accounting firm). My sons, Jacob and Michael, attended our wonderful district schools from Oakwood Primary Center through Walt Whitman High School. My wife is a Speech Language Pathologist who works with special education students. In addition to currently being a Board of Education Trustee, I also serve on our district's Audit and Curriculum Committees, and as a parent volunteered as a lacrosse coach, an assistant basketball coach, and chaperoned many school trips.
I am responsive, fair-minded, and a team player who believes that it is important to listen, learn, and communicate when making important decisions that impact our district and children. I believe there is nothing more important than ensuring a high quality and well rounded education for all of our students, while being fiscally mindful for the better good of the entire community.
It has been my absolute honor to have served on our Board of Education for the past six years and with your support, I hope to be re-elected.

Soy un orgulloso residente de Huntington Sur desde hace 21 años. Desde 2003, he trabajado en KPMG (una empresa de contabilidad). Mis hijos, Jacob y Michael, asistieron a nuestras maravillosas escuelas del distrito desde Oakwood Primary Center hasta Walt Whitman High School. Mi esposa es una patóloga del habla y el lenguaje que trabaja con estudiantes de educación especial. Además de ser actualmente un administrador de la Junta de Educación, también sirvo en nuestro distrito de Auditoría y Comités de Currículo, y como padre se ofreció como entrenador de lacrosse, un entrenador de baloncesto asistente, y acompañó a muchos viajes escolares.
Soy sensible, de mente justa, y un jugador de equipo que cree que es importante escuchar, aprender y comunicarse al tomar decisiones importantes que afectan a nuestro distrito y los niños. Creo que no hay nada más importante que garantizar una educación de alta calidad y bien redondeado para todos nuestros estudiantes, mientras que ser fiscalmente consciente por el bien de toda la comunidad.
Ha sido un honor haber servido en nuestra Junta de Educación durante los últimos seis años y con su apoyo, espero ser reelegido.
Sidney B. Joyner
In May of 2017 Sidney Joyner was elected as School Board Trustee in the South Huntington Union Free School District, and is currently in his second term. He is seeking a third term to continue building upon the success of his tenure on the board, serving the families of the South Huntington School District.
Sidney Joyner is the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer of Suffolk County. Sidney formerly held the role of the Director of Real Estate in the Department of Economic Development and Planning.
Sidney also serves the greater Huntington community in other leadership roles such as the Commissioner for the Town of Huntington Housing Authority. Sidney is a lifetime member of the NAACP Huntington Branch where he has served as Vice President. He is also past Trustee for the Huntington Library Foundation and recent past Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Urban League of Long Island.

En mayo de 2017 Sidney Joyner fue elegido como Fideicomisario de la Junta Escolar en el Distrito Escolar Libre de South Huntington Union, y actualmente está en su segundo mandato. Está buscando un tercer mandato para continuar construyendo sobre el éxito de su mandato en la junta, sirviendo a las familias del Distrito Escolar de South Huntington.
Sidney Joyner es el Director de Diversidad e Inclusión del condado de Suffolk. Sidney ocupó anteriormente el cargo de Director de Bienes Raíces en el Departamento de Desarrollo Económico y Planificación.
Sidney también sirve a la comunidad de Huntington en otras funciones de liderazgo, como la de Comisario de la Autoridad de la Vivienda de la ciudad de Huntington.
