The librarians from Oakwood, Countrywood, Birchwood, and Maplewood partnered with South Huntington Public Library to bring the summer reading program to all heir students. To encourage participation, fun activities centered on the theme “A Universe of Stories” were planned. Children demonstrated their love of reading, books, and the library by flocking there all summer.

Oakwood Primary Center had the most students complete the summer reading program in 2019; this helped our students maintain their reading skills during the break. We are so proud of our students, and we were honored to accept a plaque from South Huntington Public Library commemorating their outstanding efforts.
