On Friday evening, January 18th it was standing room only as a cast of over 50 Whitman seniors presented their annual "Follies" to the delight of everyone both on the stage and in the audience. "Follies" is a seriously fun time where the seniors perform skits and roast their favorite teachers, administrators and celebrate all that high school life can be. Skits included: Better Body Boot Camp, Life Lessons with Rod, Spartan Cheerleaders, Shark Tank, Latko vs. Guidance and more!

Thank you to Ms. Zamow and all the students responsible for all their hard work and efforts. The seniors’ creativity and energy went unmatched and they all deserve a big Congrats!

Who will forget the hysterical performance of Christian Viteri playing the role of Mr. Rodriguez who offers up countless life lessons and reminding students to Carpe Diem!   The crowd was given a big surprise when Mr. Miranda's real fiancé made an appearance in one of the skits about Mr. Miranda's wedding day.  Another popular skit was the ‘Lundy vs. Rogers’ rap battle that had the seniors chanting and singing along, and of course, the skit ‘Turner’s Dance Class’ brought student actors and teachers together for an unforgettable dance number that was amazing. Murphy's double met a mouse and Mr. Varlamos's double kept the crowd laughing with his "bad dad jokes.” There were countless cameos and academic references that left the seniors deserving much praise!

Special thanks to the Senior Class Officers who performed and coordinated all aspects of the show: Jacqueline Thomann, Alyssa Christiansen, Sean Rankel, Parker Keller, Andrew Harrigan, John Dugan, and Tiffany Dominguez.  Thomas Braglia played Mr. Murphy, Jackie Thomann played the mouse, Sean Rankel played Mr. Varlamos and Parker Keller played Mr. Miranda.

Special thanks to SDE who provided the sound system; Nina Rodrigues who coordinated the microphones, Alex Dollin handled the lighting; and the Lamplighter team was led by Sarah Nace. The Whitman custodians always have our back, the Paramount Theatre in Huntington, and of course Mr. Murphy and the Walt Whitman Administrative team for being such good sports and participating in the show.
