Congratulations and BRAVO to all our Silas Wood and Stimson actors who gave amazing performances in Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” The acting, vocals and stage presence of our young performers were outstanding! This production captivated audiences with stormy adventures on the sea, along with enchanting visits to a Magical Kingdom below the sea.

“Words cannot describe how happy we were to celebrate the fifth successful year of the theater program at Silas Wood and Stimson Middle School,” said Principal Smith at Stimson and Principal Toto at Silas Wood in a joint message to the South Huntington Community.   “The Arts truly play a critical role in the development of our students and the positive culture of our district.  When a school performs a play, something magical happens.  New friendships are formed, soft-spoken students find a voice, many become one, and most importantly, hard work and dedication are recognized.  Our students’ passion for theater was evident on the smiling faces of all the students and parents that attended The Little Mermaid.  Finally, to our students, thank you for all your passion and dedication!  All of you have done an outstanding job!  We are very proud of you.”

There are so many behind the scenes that make a production like this possible.  To Mr. Slawitsky, the Director, thank you for all you bring to the Arts. Your passion and dedication for the theatre lights-up the faces and hearts of your performers and audiences.  Thank you to Miss Jena Kolm, whose artful creative genius brings magic to the stage, and our lighting magician, Mr. Alex Dolin, who sets the stage with his illuminating effects.  We thank you, Alex, for all you bring to each and every production. Our chaperones, without the giving of their time, South Huntington’s Theater Program would not take place. Last, but certainly not least, the spectacular Stage Crew who did such an amazing job of transforming the stage, moving props and background, scene-to-scene, act-to-act!

An outstanding job was done by ALL!
