SOUTH HUNTINGTON COUNCIL OF PTAS 2009-2010All the individual Parent-Teacher Association units in the South Huntington UFSD are members of the South Huntington Council of PTAs. The PTA Council works with the Superintendent of Schools or his representative. Six official delegates represent each school in Council: the unit president, three elected delegates and the principal of the school. Each year, officers are elected from the Council body. The Council, in its role as a child advocate, promotes cooperation among the individual PTA units in matters of mutual concern. The Standing Committees of Council are: Arts in Education, Blood Drive, Budget, Bylaws, Environment, Financial Projects, Health/Wellness, Legislation and Reflections. Committees meet throughout the year with unit representatives to plan programs and deal with issues affecting our children’s educational experience and general welfare. PTA Council also provides liaison representatives to school district-wide committees. The Council meets monthly at the District Office to set goals and implement projects throughout the year.
