Council of Chief State School Officers is a nationwide, nonprofit organization

The School District Data Book
is a education database and information system containing social, financial
and administrative data for each of the 15,274 school districts in the
United States for 1989-1990. The data is provided by the Census Bureau
and the National Center for Education. The School District Data Book contains
the most extensive set of data on children, their households and the nation's
school systems. The database is available on a series of CD-ROMs, however,
certain reports are available at this site for each school district in
the country: Top 100 - General Characteristics (Summary and Detailed versions);
Common Core of Data Administrative Profile (Summary and Detailed versions);
School District Finances - Financial Profile (Summary and Detailed versions).
