The students in Mrs. Schumm and Ms. Callaway's library class experienced a true school/ library partnership this month at the South Huntington Public Library. The students were invited by the SHPL and Mrs. Teeter to experience the new technology center while establishing a community/school connection. Collaboration between librarians Ms. Lisa and Mr. Nick, along with Mrs. Teeter, had the students creating simple machines that are used in every day life. They were taught how to use the program Tinkercad to research, design, modify and eventually print 3D models of their simple machines. This is truly an exciting new look into what our Public Library has to offer our students and teachers!
