The South Huntington School District would like to congratulate the four students who won the PTA Reflections award at the regional level. This award is for students in Pre-K all the way to twelfth grade who submit an original work of art in several different areas such as dance, choreography, film production, literature, music, composition, photography, and visual arts.
Walt Whitman senior Karina Yew won in literature for her original poem and 6th grader Sienna Leaver won in music for her piano piece that she also wrote herself. Fifth grader Erica Chung won in visual arts and 2nd grader Alex Garrido won in literature and in music for his original story and piano performance.
All of these talented students’ works of art will be put on display at the PTA showcase and will be moving on to compete at the state level. We wish Karina, Sienna, Erica and Alex the best of luck as they move forward!
