Walt Whitman Principal John Murphy congratulates his 12 seniors who have been awarded New York State Scholarships for Academic Excellence.

Walt Whitman Principal John Murphy proudly announces the recipients of the 2019 New York State Scholarship for Academic Excellence. These students are recognized by the New York State Board of Regents for their scholastic achievements and outstanding academic accomplishments. The awards are based on a formula using Regents exams in English, Algebra 2/Trig, Global Studies, American History and Science (3 exams). “The students here represent the best and brightest of Walt Whitman High School,” said Principal John Murphy as he addressed the award winning students. “This award showcases their hard work and shows that not only Walt Whitman but New York State acknowledges all their efforts in making sure their post secondary dreams are achieved.” These 12 seniors have been awarded scholarships that will be able to be used for any college or university in New York State for the 2019-20 school year.
