National Autism Awareness Month represents an excellent opportunity to promote autism awareness, autism acceptance and to draw attention to the tens of thousands facing an autism diagnosis each year. The Autism Society has been celebrating National Autism Awareness Month since the 1970s. The United States recognizes April as a special opportunity to educate the public about autism and issues within the autism community. Stimson’s SADD club, led by Adviser Justin Gravina, held a logo design contest and apparel fundraiser to benefit Autism Speaks.  Evelyn Wang, one of Stimson’s very talented artist’s designed this year’s logo.  Apparel was sold district wide and is being worn by staff and students on Wednesdays.
