On Wednesday, March 18th, Jaime Rogers represented the South Huntington Union Free School District at the ASSET conference. ASSET, the Association of Suffolk Supervisors of Educational Technology, is a vibrant organization dedicated to infusing technology into the fabric of student learning.

Past President Dr. Jared Bloom planned the workshop with Stony Brook Professor of Engineering Anurag Purwar. The theme of the workshop was developed around the robotics kit called SNAPPY XO.  After a brief explanation and movie, attendees were given components of the robotics kit and allowed to actually build a robot. Mr. Rogers, a gifted science teacher and an advisor to the Robotics Club, helped those having difficulty with the written directions and with their manual ability to connect the parts. Additionally, he answered attendees’ questions relating to how their districts could develop advanced technology plans.  Once again, South Huntington showed its leadership in technology. We thank Jaime for his dedication and involvement.
