“Not only do you bring great pride to our school community, you are everything a parent and principal, can ask for,” Mr. John Murphy.

Based on SAT and ACT test scores, students and their families were honored with breakfast at Walt Whitman's south cafeteria as the district continued its tradition of honoring students who qualify for the prestigious SAT/ACT Scholars Club Award designation. The morning began with Whitman’s Principal John Murphy welcoming the special guests and honored students. “This academic feat is a true testament to the focus and resiliency you have demonstrated over your four years here at Walt Whitman,” said Principal Murphy.  “While many can try and boast about their accomplishments, you have shown such academic prowess throughout your educational career, and it is something that should be praised and identified."

Honored guests were introduced, including Board of Education President Mr. Nicholas Ciappetta, Vice President Ms. Laura Carey, and Board Trustee Andrew Bronson. Superintendent Dr. David Bennardo commended the students before returning the microphone to Principal Murphy and Assistant Principal Jon Varlamos who called each student up to congratulate and receive their certificate.
