On Monday, March 11th The Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City sponsored "Salute to Women in STEM", highlighting the accomplishments of United States Astronaut Dr. Nicole Scott and Dr. Sharon DeVivo, President of Vaughn College of Aeronautics. The event was hosted by News 12's Carol Silva.

Thirty female students from Silas Wood Sixth Grade Center and Stimson Middle School attended to hear the inspiring messages from three successful individuals. Dr. Scott showed pictures of herself in space and also navigating the Space Shuttle Discovery.
