Great news from Stimson’s 7th Grade Honors English class and their teacher Ms. Dawn Shikarides. Turns out that three very talented writers- Katie Mondry, Makayla Castillo, and Olivia Beck have been chosen to be featured in the book Stranger Sagas-New York Stories set for a February 2019 publication.

Using a selection of one-sentence story starters supplied by ‘Young Writers,’ our three scribes were inspired to write a mini-saga, a story written in just 100 words! Each story starter sentence was interpreted as the student’s wished, as well as how they developed the story and what genre they choose to write in. After all, every great story deserves a great ending…

‘Young Writers’ was established in 1991 in a small warehouse in Eastern England and has blossomed into a worldwide brand! Today, Young Writers is still a modest family-run business, but on a much bigger scale than its humble beginnings. They pride themselves on encouraging young writers to read, write and enjoy poetry as well as creative writing. Having work published boosts confidence nurtures creative talent and showcases creativity.
