Countrywood PTA once again planned various outstanding activities for our Pick a Reading Partner (PARP) week. This year the theme was “Saddle Up and Read” and was officially launched on Friday, February 1 at family Paint night where everyone painted a canvas of the book cover, “How to Catch a Star.” Throughout the week students participated in both in-school and out-of-school activities such as DEAR time, the riddle of the day, reading BINGO, pajama day, PARP Mad Libs,  and much much more. The PTA also partnered up with the South Huntington Library to encourage students to visit all of the wonderful resources available in the children’s department.  Our very own South Huntington Nutrition Services department also joined in on the fun with book themed cafeteria menus.  The smiles on student’s faces throughout the week said it all as they came in each and every day waiting to hear their riddle and proudly displaying their artwork that will be hung up in the South Huntington Library.
