Taken from our weekly Superintendent Newsletter, Personnel Administrator Frank Fallon has the Spotlight on Dr. Annie Michaelian. “We can all agree that educators are special people. Their life’s work is to support the growth and development of young people. Their kind words and deeds foster confidence in students and help them believe in themselves.

One person, however, is recognized by students, teachers, and administrators as standing out among the rest. Dr. Annie Michaelian is presently the Assistant Principal of Oakwood Primary School.  A graduate of South Huntington Union Free School District, she fulfilled her dream of becoming an elementary teacher in her home district. After excelling in that role, she was appointed the Assistant Principal of the Birchwood Intermediate School where she worked closely with colleagues and parents.

Among her most recent endeavors, she worked with Birchwood’s School-Based Management Team to develop the beautification of the Huntington Train Trestle. She helped in the coordination of numerous parents, students, and teachers to help “make a difference” in their community."

Dr. Michaelian is one of three honorees to be recognized at the SHEF Gala on April 10, 2019, at the Mansion in Oyster Bay for her ongoing contributions to school and community.

Way to Go Dr. Michaelian!
