The Walt Whitman Varsity Golf team sent six golfers this past Monday, October 22nd, to compete in the Section XI Leagues I & II Tournament at Rock Hill Golf & Country Club in Manorville.  Keep up with tradition Whitman golfers wore pink armbands to support of breast cancer awareness month.  After a frost delay, Ray Matuza, Robert Posillico, Andrew Harrigan, Danny Kulesa, Julia Posillico and AJ Wobig competed in 18 holes, over 4+ hours, in the cold and windy conditions against Suffolk Counties top golfers.  Ray, Robert, Danny and AJ scores qualified them for the Suffolk County Championship that will be held this coming Monday, October 29th at Rock Hill.  "I am really proud of our team. They have put a lot of time into improving their individual golf game which noticeably paid off.' says Coach John Labate. Congratulations on a job well done and good luck at the county championships.  Go Wildcats!
