This year’s 5th Grade Track and Field Meet proved once again to be a huge success. Coupled with sunny but brisk fall weather, athletes from Birchwood and Maplewood participated in this annual event that features Sprints, 4x100 Relay Races, Accuracy and Distance Throws, and Standing and Running Long Jumps.

Some of the highlights from the meet include Michael Carr coming in first place in the Accuracy Throw after a winning a tie-breaker and Nazarae Knox from Birchwood tied the district record of 7.3 seconds in the 80-meter dash.

Great job by our 5th Grade athletes, you made us all proud of your effort and a wonderful display of sportsmanship! A special thank you to all our Physical Education Teachers and Classroom teachers who assisted in making this annual event so awesome!
