The 2018 Girls Varsity Cross Country team started the season with an excellent showing at the Peconic Invitational in Hampton Bays on September 13th.  The entire team, as always, put in a very strong effort and achieved many individual and team goals for their first race of the season. Captain Grace Weigele (sophomore) ran the 5K course in 22:04.61 and set the tone for the potential of this ambitious team. “This team has progressively improved and should be commended for their overall work ethic and I look forward to what the future holds for each athlete,” said Coach Vasken Kazandjian. The team’s next dual meet is scheduled for October 2nd vs. Sachem East at Sunken Meadow.
