We are happy to report the appointment of Mr. Mitch Levy as the Principal of Countrywood Primary Center.  Mr. Levy will be assuming the mantle of leadership from Barbara Kenney, who retired with distinction after a lifetime of service to our South Huntington community.

Having served for the past twelve years as the Assistant Principal at Oakwood Primary Center, Mitch brings with him a rich diversity of experience and a demonstrated commitment to the district.  Prior to his South Huntington experience, he taught 4th-Grade in the Freeport School District.

Mr. Levy looks forward to continuing the legacy of academic success established at Countrywood.  In addition, character education initiatives will continue to be incorporated, ensuring that all students feel safe and respected as they are nurtured and guided to grow both socially and academically.  “We have always recognized the importance of fostering a strong home/school connection, and strongly believe that as partners with our parents we can create self-confident life-long learners,” said Mr. Levy.   “We strive to make every child feel that they are a valued member of the Countrywood family and should be proud of their accomplishments.”

Our Board of Education President Nicholas Ciappetta points with pride to Mr. Levy’s decades of experience and predicts that his boundless energy will elevate the gravitas of our Countrywood learning family.  We welcome Mr. Levy to our building leadership team and look forward to following Countrywood’s continued success.
