South Huntington’s Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Curriculum Dr. Jared T. Bloom, visited both Maplewood and Birchwood Intermediate Schools on Friday, June 15th to speak with and congratulate the student officers in each school. Dr. Bloom had our students introduced each other and talk about the many school and community events in which they are involved and which ones are their favorite and why.

“Inside of their school as well as outside, student leaders will always be leaders,” said Dr. Bloom. “Every one of you takes the time to give back to your fellow students, here at Birchwood [and Maplewood], and as you’ve just shared with me, it sounds like your doing some great things in your community as well. We hope you continue to be leaders and give back to your schools and your community because it’s very important.”
