Mr. O'Connor's 4th grade class at Maplewood Intermediate School participated in the SIFMA Foundation's Stock Market Game. Michael Carr and Dean Rosengold finished 1st out of 366 teams entered in the competition. Michael and Dean chose to carefully diversify their stock portfolio buying shares in companies like Netflix, Apple, Boeing and Dominos Pizza. The boys netted a return of over 10% in the 13-week period of competition. This is the 2nd year in a row that a team from Mr. O'Connor's class has taken the top spot in this competition.

The teams were invited to an awards presentation and luncheon on May 29th at Adelphi University. The students were given medals, an opportunity to give a speech to the crowd and treated to a fantastic lunch. What a great experience for these future financial wizards!
