Hurry! Summer Research Program is Filling Fast

Dear Parent/Guardian:

This Summer we are excited to offer students the opportunity to participate in a two-week intensive Science Research Camp at Walt Whitman High School.  This program is available to students entering grades 7, 8, and 9 in the fall.

Why should your student attend South Huntington’s Summer Research Program?

Across New York, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers are growing 2.5 times faster than those in any other field.  Whitman students who have attended summer STEM programs during high school have reported that these programs are highly valuable for introducing them to potential careers and helped them in the college admissions process.

Many summer science programs are costly and very competitive.  The cost of the South Huntington program is $300 (for two weeks);  a limited number of need-based scholarships are available.  The Program will be taught by Mr. Fred Feraco, Whitman’s science research teacher.

Please return your application (attached below) to Ms. Scardapane (mscardapane@shufsd.org) asap.  We look forward to hearing from you!
