Mrs. DiNorcia’s second-grade dual language class at Countrywood engaged in an Author Celebration. During the past few weeks, the children began to study non-fiction text focusing on reading biographies and learning about famous individuals that made positive contributions to our world.  Each student chose a famous person and worked collaboratively in small groups reading and researching important information within books, articles, and online sources.  During the Author Celebration, the children shared their findings of the life of their accomplished historical individuals and some even dressed up with creative props to identify with their influential person.  The students were greatly inspired by the accomplishments of their famous historical figures.
