Birchwood's Student Council President Daniel Ryan has started a bottle recycling collection to raise money for Maggie's Mission, dedicated to the memory of the beloved daughter of Donna and Steven Schmidt. “Through this organization, [Maggie’s Mission] we hope to fund research for not only Maggie’s cancer but other pediatric cancers too,” said Donna and Steven on their website www.maggiesmission.org.  “If we can help just one child, it will be worth it.”

If you have bottles from local stores and would like to donate them, please drop them off at Birchwood. Daniel and his family have been collecting and returning the bottles themselves. “This makes me feel good because I know that I’m part of helping a lot of other people,” said our active fifth grader who’s involved in Tri-Village Baseball, plays the Clarinet in the Band, is a member of Birchwood’s SBM, and a member of the Chorus and Safety Patrol.  Please help the environment and Maggie's Mission!
