One of our important district goals has been the development of our Science Research program to provide “cutting-edge” opportunities for our emerging scholars. We have been working hard over the years to cultivate this program and expand the depth and breadth of both academic and practical connections to the broader science community. It with this understanding that we proudly congratulate Whitman sophomore Gretel Huber who has been awarded the coveted Summer Research Internship at the Dos Santos Lab at Cold Spring Harbor Lab. This is a first for our district, and Gretel, who is part of Whitman’s Research II program, will certainly represent South Huntington with distinction.
