A first place trophy was awarded to the team of Rachel Vaughan and Joseph VanGostein who will now prepare to compete at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta.

Walt Whitman Social Studies Teacher and DECA Advisor Ms. Deanna Morga is happy to report that last week, seventeen Walt Whitman DECA members attended the 58th Annual New York DECA State Career Conference. First year and experienced members alike were well prepared and made Walt Whitman High School proud in competition against 3,500 other high school DECA students. 

Top Ten Medals were awarded to:

Kevin McKenna - for the test in Marketing Communications Team Decision Making

Tiffany Chuen - for the test in Travel and Tourism Team Decision Making Event.

Jason Girard - for the test, and the role play in Automotive Services Marketing

The team of Jeremy Forman and Nathan Blank for the test, role-play, and top ten overall in Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making.

A first place trophy was awarded to the team of Rachel Vaughan and Joseph VanGostein in the Learn and Earn project.  Joe and Rachel will continue the tradition of competing at the DECA International Career Development Conference, this April in Atlanta.
