The menu of talent at Thursday night’s Festival of the Arts really put the District’s Arts program on center stage. Parents and community members, with children leading the way, enjoyed a gallery-like setting while the talented of the Chamber Orchestra, directed by Frank Yolango, serenaded the art viewers in Whitman’s South Gymnasium.

The Center Stage portion of the evening began in the Whitman Performing Arts Center where the performing arts began with the incredible Whitman Dance Program, followed by the Stimson Jazz and Dance programs. Whitman’s Jazz Band was up next, with the Collective, Tour Choir, Latino Dance, Stimson’s Show Stoppers, and Musical Theater to create an inspiring evening. A special thank you to our stage crew for running a seamless performance schedule. We also thank the Lamplighters who assisted during the course of the performances.  (David Rickmers – Advisor). The arts are alive and flourishing here in South Huntington!

District Arts Facilitator Ms. Jackie Tartaro sends congratulations to all who participated in the Festival of the Arts especially to all of our Teachers and Advisors who, along with their students, presented their very best. Thank you: Susan Radin, Greg Modelewski, Nicole Willis, Matt Hoffman, Vito Monti, Steven Altinel, Daniel Rodrigues, Tatiana Jordan, Dana Cavanagh, and Whitman senior Marco Chiriboga representing the Intl. Thespian Society. Congratulations to our Art Teachers who showcased their students’ artwork; Gina Tinucci, David Rickmers, Nicole Guido, Erica Cryer, Linda Salta, Jenna Kolm, and Linda Salta.

This was the fourth annual Festival of the Arts, and there was no doubt that South Huntington’s ongoing commitment to excellence in the arts is stronger than ever before.
