The Athletic Department is proud to recognize the last of our fall season playoff competitors as Athletes of the Month for November.

Emily Fung is our November Female Athlete of the Month and our All-State Swimmer. Emily represented South Huntington at the New York State Swimming and Diving high school championship at Ithaca College this past fall.  She swam the 100-yard backstroke (58.29) and placed 13th in the State. Emily is now, All-State, All-County, All-Long Island, and received the Section XI Sportsmanship Award. We commend Emily, her family, and coaches for dedicating the countless hours that successful swimming competition requires. Swimming is an all-year sport and Emily swims for Team Suffolk when she’s not competing for HUSH, the combined Huntington/South Huntington team. Emily is also a member the Art Honor Society, and the Spanish Honor Society.

Our November Male Athlete of the Month is senior All-League Golfer Scott McEntee. After earning a bid to the County Championships, Scott and two other Wildcat golfers had their work cut out for them on a difficult course. “It was a good experience, I felt that we all fell a few strokes short of our goals,” said McEntee.  “The conditions were tough as the tees were moved to the back and it was cold and windy, but all-together still a good experience.” Scott ended his golf season with a positive record and hopes to settle on his choice of college soon where he will study something in the sciences and/or health industry.  He is currently fencing and in the spring badminton will keep him busy. Our National Honor Society member, Paw print contributor, and Chamber Orchestra Violin player will soon be competing as the captain of the Walt Whitman Science Bowl team.

Congratulations to our Athletes of the Month for November.
