We hear from Mrs. Deanna Morga, a Walt Whitman Social Studies Teacher and DECA Advisor that on January 3, 2018, forty-six DECA students competed against schools from across Suffolk County in their first round of competitive events at Suffolk Community College.

All the students put great effort in preparing for this event. Walt Whitman DECA upheld their reputation by bringing home 25 trophies. The results are as follows:

1st place for the team of Jaden Speter and Andrew Ferreri in Buying & Merchandising

1st place for the team of Jeremy Forman and Nathan Blank in Sports & Entertainment Management

1st Place Rachel Vaughan in Business Finance

3rd place for the team of Joanne Nguyen and Tiffany Chuen Travel & Tourism Marketing

3rd Place trophy Jason Girard in Automotive Services Marketing
